Privacy Policy

The short version

GoldCue has no accounts, no sign-ups and no comments. The calculators run entirely in your browser: the weights, karats, spot prices and exchange rates you type are never sent to us or stored anywhere. We use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits, and advertising cookies (described below) if ads are shown. We do not sell personal information.

Calculator inputs

Every GoldCue calculator is client-side: the maths happens on your device, in the page, the moment you type. Your inputs — a gold weight, a karat, a year, a price — are not transmitted to our servers, not logged, and not shared. Closing the tab discards them. The snapshot prices built into the pages are the site’s own published figures, not data about you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and calculators are useful — pages visited, approximate location (country/region), device type and how visitors arrive. Analytics data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with any other data source (we hold no other data about you to combine it with). Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visits; you can block cookies in your browser without affecting the calculators, which work regardless.

Advertising and cookies

GoldCue may display advertising served by Google AdSense and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices. If ads are not yet shown on the site, this section describes the arrangement that will apply when they are.

Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to handle the matter you raised (for example, checking a figure you queried). We do not add email correspondents to marketing lists, and we do not share email addresses with third parties.

External links

GoldCue links to external sources (for example, price-data references). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites; check their policies if concerned.

Children

GoldCue is a general-audience information site about gold prices. It is not directed at children and collects no information from them beyond the anonymous analytics described above.
