The short version: GoldCue’s numbers are honest estimates with their dates on them — not live prices, not offers, and not advice. Last updated: 4 November 2026.

Estimates, not quotations

Every value GoldCue shows is a melt value: the market value of the pure gold content of an item, calculated from a spot price. Melt value is a reference point, not a transaction price. When you sell, a buyer will pay less — typically 70–95% of melt, depending on the buyer, the item and the market — because they must test, refine, hold and resell the metal. When you buy, a seller will charge more than melt once making charges, wastage and margin are added. No figure on this site is an offer to buy or sell gold at that price.

Dated snapshot, not a live feed

GoldCue’s default prices are a snapshot of Monday 2 November 2026 (spot XAU/USD $3,904.51 per troy ounce; Rs 276.72 = $1). Gold moves every trading day, so snapshot figures will differ from today’s market. Each calculator accepts today’s spot price and exchange rate and recalculates everything from them; until you enter current figures, treat results as worked examples at the snapshot. Local sarafa rates in Pakistan additionally reflect association premiums and market conditions, and can differ from spot-converted figures.

Historical figures

Annual prices for 2000–2025 are yearly averages compiled from LBMA fix data (via YCharts) and Money Metals’ average series. Averages smooth over daily highs and lows; the price on a specific past day may have differed materially from that year’s average. Historical performance does not predict future prices.

Not financial advice

GoldCue is an information and education service. Nothing here recommends buying, selling or holding gold or any other asset, and nothing here is personalised to your circumstances. For decisions involving significant money, consult a qualified financial adviser and confirm prices with live market sources and the dealer you intend to transact with.

Affiliate and advertising disclosure
